Species interactions in a prairie butterfly: Puget blues, ants and nectar plants

Every year, the South Sound, WA celebrates its prairies with Prairie Appreciation Day where visitors tour the gorgeous prairies and participate in activities to learn about prairie plants, pollinators, and more. This year, Prairie Appreciation Day was cancelled but, we're still celebrating virtually! Instead of in-person activities, the virtual celebration is a blog with posts from people with first-hand experience on South Sound prairies.

I co-wrote this week's post on Puget blue butterflies, ants, and plants with Tufts undergraduate, Hanna Brush, and Washington State University PhD student, Kelsey King. Read it here.

You can follow the Prairie Appreciation Day blog for more prairie-related posts, there are quite a few scheduled to come out of the Washington State University Conservation Biology Lab!
